Hilary is a very experienced teacher of creative writing courses and has taught numerous writing workshops for Triskel Arts Centre, and for University College Cork. Several of her beginner participants in 2013, 2014 and 2015's creative writing workshops made their very successful reading debut at the Cork World Book Festival each year, reading stories that were worked on in her classes, and her participants have also been very successful in winning writing competitions and in getting published, which included three of her beginner participants last winter getting published in book-form after succeeding in the RTE 'short-short story' competition.
In this workshop, Hilary will lead a series of four 3-hour workshops over the course of the Saturday and Sunday, on writing short stories, and will be encouraging and guiding participants' own writings through class exercises, feedback, and group discussion.
